AMID THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, The newly-remodeled administration office of Honolulu's Mililani High School was outfitted with the ceiling-mounted, motorized WorkSpace SHIELD.
HONOLULU, HI (January 21, 2021) — In an effort to increase health and safety at Honolulu, Hawaii’s Mililani High School, Principal Fred Murphy considered installing traditional plexiglass barriers in preparation for schools reopening. Then, he was approached by local business owner Kathleen Chamberlin, of Aloha Awnings & Window Coverings.
As a WorkSpace SHIELD dealer, Chamberlin helped Principal Murphy see the superiority of using an ultra-durable PVC barrier, designed for minimal intrusion in the work environment. As a result, the school’s entire newly-remodeled administration office was outfitted with the motorized, remote-controlled WorkSpace SHIELD.
"We found the WSS to be not only effective to create a safe environment, but aesthetically pleasing," said Murphy. "This type of product can be retracted if there’s less of a need for them, while plexiglass is less friendly and would need to be taken down." He also commented that the SHIELD has helped to underscore their commitment to health and safety. "I would say the level of confidence is definitely up."
